July theme: The Art of Noticing
Beginners/Improvers Yoga
Chasing Rainbows - 27 mins
Welcome to the next instalment in our Art of Noticing series. We will begin with a few rounds of sun salutations to wash away the day's stress. Then we will settle into shavasana. Here, we will trace our day not through our achievements, but by awakening our senses to the rainbow of colours we have seen.
Gentle Yoga
A Breath of Fresh Air - 29 mins
The goal of this class is to experience deeper, unrestricted breaths. We will create physical room for the lungs to expand by unlocking tension in the ribcage, shoulders, chest, and back.
Beginners / Improvers Yoga
Fortify Your Knees - 36 mins
Knee stability keeps these joints aligned and distributes load evenly. Today we work on strengthening the supportive muscles around the knees to build a strong base for everyday movements. We'll also incorporate stretches to help address muscle imbalances alongside our strength work.
Beginners / Improvers Yoga
QL Care - 41 mins
This class focuses on the QL (quadratus lumborum), a pair of deep back muscles. We'll experience the capacity of the QL to provide lower back stability, as well as explore its role in creating movement through side bending and spinal extension.
Hatha Yoga
Crossroads - 43 mins
Today, our focus is on stretching the outer hips. This can help improve how well your joints move, take pressure off the lower back, and ease muscle tension. We'll go about lengthening through internal hip rotation and hip adduction movements so we can target all the outer hips muscles.
Hatha Flow Yoga
Shrug It Off - 41 mins
Our target today is the upper trapezius, a muscle pair crossing the neck and shoulders. Slumped postures can make this area tight and tense. Today, we'll be bringing in movements to encourage blood flow here and create more space.
Vinyasa Yoga
Muscles Like Butter - 37 mins
I taught this class at the studio a few days before filming it, and felt a lovely butter-soft feeling in my hips afterwards, so I decided to make that the title. I hope the class leaves your hips feeling spacious and supple too!
